Dr (Mrs) Ajoritsedere Josephine Awosika (nee Okotie-Eboh) was born in Sapele, Delta State.
Dr (Mrs.) Awosika is an accomplished administrator with over three and a half decades of experience in public sector governance. She was the pioneer National Coordinator/Chief Executive of the National Programme on Immunization, Director (Parastatals) in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Director (Department of Community Relations & Youth Development) in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and rose to the level of Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Interior; Career Management Office (CMO), in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Federal Ministry of Science & Technology and Federal Ministry of Power. In her career pathway she attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State in year 2005/2006 where she obtained a Member of the National Institute (mni). She retired as a federal permanent secretary in January 2013.
Dr (Mrs.) Awosika joined the Board of Access bank in April 2013 as an Independent Non-Executive Director and has been the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board Credit and Finance Committee and the Board Audit Committee respectively in addition to membership of other board committees.
Dr (Mrs.) Awosika is a Member of the Board of Advisors of Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG); Advisory Council to the Olu of Warri, Council of University of Warri, and Member Governing Board of the Nigerian Prize for Leadership, a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy.
She holds an M.Pharm in Clinical Pharmacy, a Doctorate degree (Phd) in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom in 1981 and 1985 respectively, obtained a postdoctoral certification in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Leeds Teaching Hospital, UK.
She is currently Chairman of Chairman of Access Bank Plc. Limited, a NonExecutive Director of Capital Express Assurance Ltd and former Chairman of Chams Plc, Access Bank Plc.
Tolu Alero Ladipo is a Marketing and Corporate Communications Expert who holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Trade from the University of Essex, Colchester, both from the United Kingdom. She is also called to the Nigerian Bar.
With a background in Legal, Alero has built her career in Marketing and Communication with over 18 years of experience in Strategy Development, Customer & Product Portfolio Management, Public & Media Relations, Integrated Marketing to mention but a few, Alero has worked in some of Nigeria’s leading financial services providers where she had a fulfilling career which saw her soar to become Head of Marketing at the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Smile Communications and Union Bank. She is presently is the Executive Head, Marketing and Customer Experience.
Professor Tanimola Makanjuola AKANDE is a Professor of Public Health with University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria and a Consultant Public Health Physician with University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. He is a specialist in Health Management. He studied Medicine at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated in 1984. He is a member West African College of Physicians and Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College and Institute of Chartered Management Consultants.
He was at various times Head, Department of Epidemiology & Community Health, University of Ilorin. He served in various Committees, Technical Working Groups and as Consultant to Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and several international agencies and partners (including WHO, UNICEF, EU PRIME, PATH 2, HFG-USAID) in Nigeria and other countries including Ghana, Liberia, Zimbabwe and Kenya. He was the National Chairman of Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN) from 2013 – 2017. He was a member World Health Organization (WHO) African Region Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Measles and Rubella. He is a Senior Researcher with Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD) since 2007.
He is currently a member of the Governing Council of Bingham University, Karu; Member Top Management Committee (TMC) University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital; Member, Expert Review Committee (ERC) on Poliomyelitis Eradication Initiative and Routine Immunization in Nigeria and Chairman, ECWA Health Insurance Scheme Board
He is also a member, Board of Trustees PharmAccess Foundation Nigeria; Board of Trustees Centre for Afri-Health Development; Board of Trustees African Civil Society for the Care and Support of Tuberculosis Patients (ACT). He is also a Member of Board of Directors, Josephine Consults. Member of the Advisory Board of Exochos Innovations Limited.
He is a seasoned academic with over 170 publications in reputable peer reviewed local and international journals and has supervised 6 PhD students and 15 Fellows in Public Health.
He is happily married with three Children.
